Cody Byrd for Horseshoe Bend City Council
Ward 1, Position 2
Common-sense leadership for Horseshoe Bend
A dedicated neighbor, family man committed to bringing accountable governance and public safety first to our city council. Horseshoe Bend is where my family builds our lives. Raising children here has shown me the true value of our safe neighborhoods, clean parks, and the enduring strength of our local veterans.

Rooted in the Ozarks
My name is Cody Byrd, and I am running for Horseshoe Bend City Council, Ward 1 Position 2, because I believe our community deserves leadership that listens, communicates openly, and focuses on the issues that matter most to the people who live here.
Like many residents, I have watched our town struggle with challenges that have gone unresolved for too long. Horseshoe Bend is a beautiful community with tremendous potential. We have hardworking families, dedicated veterans, retirees who invested their lives here, and young people who deserve opportunities to thrive. Yet many residents feel disconnected from local government and frustrated that their concerns are not being addressed.
I am running because I believe we can do better.
My priorities are straightforward: transparency, public safety, fiscal responsibility, community improvement, and quality of life.
One of the most pressing concerns I hear from residents is public safety. Citizens should feel secure in their homes, neighborhoods, parks, and businesses. We must work with law enforcement and community partners to address criminal activity, drug-related problems, theft, and vandalism that negatively impact our city and our residents.
I also believe Horseshoe Bend must reinvest in its parks, recreational facilities, and community spaces. Our children need positive activities. Our families deserve clean parks, functioning restrooms, well-maintained playgrounds, and community events that bring people together. Our baseball field should once again be a source of pride for our town.
Fiscal responsibility is equally important. Taxpayers deserve accountability and transparency regarding how public funds are spent. Every dollar should be used wisely, with a focus on essential services, long-term planning, and projects that improve the lives of residents.
I will also advocate for stronger communication between city government and the people it serves. Residents deserve timely information, honest answers, and elected officials who are accessible and willing to listen. Government works best when citizens are informed and involved.
I am committed to supporting our veterans and senior citizens, encouraging responsible economic growth, strengthening local businesses, and helping create opportunities that benefit the entire community.
Most importantly, I believe small towns matter. Communities thrive when citizens become involved, work together, and refuse to settle for less than what their town can become. Horseshoe Bend deserves leaders who will show up, listen, and work hard every day to improve our community.
This campaign is not about politics. It is about service. It is about restoring pride in our city and building a stronger future for everyone who calls Horseshoe Bend home.
Together, we can make Horseshoe Bend a cleaner, safer, more welcoming place for all ages and a community we are proud to pass on to future generations.
